ACCEL Schools is seeking an Operations & Compliance Officer for OHDELA to develop and refine policies and processes that ensure 100% compliance with education regulation requirements at the federal, state, and local level.  The Compliance Officer promotes an ethical culture in all programs and activities.

Description:

The Operations & Compliance Officer is responsible for achieving timely compliance with requirements set by federal & state education authorities as well as the school board and sponsor for OHDELA.

 

Essential functions include:

  • Ensures accurate and timely completion of required reports including but not limited to Title funding, Civil Rights Data Collection, teacher certification, employee background and health screening, and authorizer accountability
  • Compiles data, analyzes information, delivers reports, and maintains records for audits and other compliance matters
  • Provides daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports as well as analysis to school and company leadership
  • Manages student enrollment processes, documentation and staff, ensuring proper document collection & retention, furnishing of all audit documentation, and training of staff
  • Attends board meetings and works with board members and committees to implement policies.
  • Oversees public posting of board and committee meeting notices and minutes.
  • Provides policy information, guidance and advice to school leaders and other staff
  • Reviews policies and advises on revisions as appropriate
  • Serves as primary contact for state regulators and sponsor
  • Contributes actively to charter renewals

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • Valid Ohio Superintendent or Administrator license
  • Deep knowledge of education and charter school laws, regulations, policies & procedures at both the federal and Ohio state levels
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with management reporting
  • Minimum 5 years' supervisory experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience developing and implementing process improvement initiatives
  • Track record of compliance excellence
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and web based applications
  • Understanding and ability to manage confidential information
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
