ACCEL Schools is seeking Instructional Aides/Paraprofessionals in the Cleveland, Ohio area dedicated to providing a superior education for all students in our Network. Job Summary:

 

The Employee shall perform the duties of Specialized Paraprofessional at the School, as described below and the laws of the State of Ohio. Employee agrees and acknowledges that he/she is responsible to assist in the implementation of the School curriculum and support the goals and objectives of the School. Further job description and performance expectations are listed below: 

  • Creating and maintain a high-quality learning environment with respect to the academic needs of the child
  • Work with student(s) to ensure mastery of all material delivered
  • Maintain an effective Special Education program with the assistance of the Intervention Specialists
  • Work with student(s) with special needs to increase and support goals listed in the IEP
  • Stay abreast and monitor all legal issues that are associated with our Special Education population
  • Develop and implement classroom management strategies that respect the needs and development of the student(s) and that ensures a positive, harmonious learning environment
  • Maintain professional behavior which is appropriate in the field of education and supports the school
  • Assist Intervention Specialist, classroom teachers and school leaders with building-wide expectations and modifying curriculum to meet the needs of a specific student/students based on their IEP
  • Support and work to create and maintain small groups that are organized and focused on student achievement
  • Assist in the implementation of lesson plans as prescribed by the Intervention Specialists and School Leaders
  • Participates in all professional development activities
  • Prepares student(s) to achieve on state, district and classroom assessments
  • Participates in data collection with regards to student IEP goals for behavior and academics
  • Implements professional practices consistent with the school's vision and philosophy
  • Helps with supervision according to the needs of the school
  • Conduct instructional groups at the direction of school leaders
  • Assist in the daily operations of the school as needed to ensure the success of the students
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Current Paraprofessional license in the State of Ohio
  • Associate or Higher Degree Required
  • Knowledge of Ohio Learning Standards and Common Core Standards, Extended Standards
  • Experience in inclusion setting, resource room, pull-out setting, various co-teaching models
  • High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
  • High-quality written and verbal communication skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
  • Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI)
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural/urban setting preferred
