Description

ACCEL Schools is seeking Orientation Specialists for its online charter school Peak Prep.  Peak Prep uses a cutting-edge 21st-century curriculum, which can be accessed online and through a variety of traditional methods. 

 

Orientation Specialists serve as the primary point of contact for potential new students and families throughout the enrollment process, communicating frequently and addressing questions or concerns.

 

Duties include

  • Develop expertise in school and state eligibility requirements for enrollment
  • Manage all outbound and inbound activities during the enrollment process
  • Host informational events such as webinars and open houses for prospective families
  • Manage school-wide marketing, communications, and brand development efforts
  • Ensure program compliance through document request, evaluation, and submission
  • Update student records in all student information systems
  • Onboard new students and families
  • Verify computer eligibility and add students to equipment orders
  • Ensure course schedules are assigned and accurate prior to each school start
  • Identify issues and problem solve with other departments and vendors as needed for prompt and professional resolution
  • Participate in and coordinate the development of pertinent professional development activities
  • Document and manage student funnel
  • Plan and execute all aspects of student events including marketing events, state testing, and student or teacher meetings
  • Administer State and other testing
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social services, or related field
  • Current California teaching license
  • Prior experience working as a teacher tutor, counselor, or mentor to youth
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Google Docs, MS Office Suite, e-mail, and internet applications;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong ability to gather, analyze, and interpret student transcript data to make sound decisions;
  • Understanding of and ability to manage confidential information
  • Ability to work well under pressure as well as effectively prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines consistently
  • Ability to work with a diverse and distributed community
  • Ability to pass state and federal background checks
