ACCEL Schools is seeking a highly-qualified Instructional Leadership Coach in our Akron, Ohio network. We are seeking candidates who are excited to support administration with developing a rigorous and nurturing classroom environment that prioritizes student learning and social-emotional development. Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years teaching experience required
  • 2 years leadership/curriculum experience required
  • Bachelor's in education required, master's degree preferred
  • Strong computer skills including email and Microsoft Office 
  • Ability and willingness to work evening hours as needed (potentially 1-2 times per month)
  • Ability to pass federal, state, and local background checks

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support and adjust effective BLT and TBT procedures and monitor the data collection, data analysis and action steps taking place at each school.
  • Model effective data collection protocols and the use of multiple sources of data, and provide effective feedback, professional development and coaching for School Leaders in mastering these practices and each step in the process of leading BLT and TBT.
  • Lead BLT and support TBT meetings with a gradual release to school leader, followed by close progress monitoring.  Debrief and provide constructive feedback each meeting to school teams for continuous improvement in school wide procedures and data analysis protocols.
  • Analyzes and uses data to identify professional development needs and to evaluate, improve and report on program effectiveness.
  • Develops, coordinates and oversees district-wide professional learning programs in alignment with district goals and initiatives.
  • Communicate effective RTI meeting procedures and monitor the progress monitoring and data collection that is taking place at each school.
  • Communicate effective BLT and TBT procedures and monitor the data collection, data analysis and action steps taking place at each school.
  • Attend BLT, TBT and RTI meetings, debrief and provide constructive feedback to school leaders for continuous improvement in school wide procedures and data analysis protocols.
  • Supports continuous and targeted professional development that directly supports the school curriculum and instruction that ensures continuous student achievement of the school's academic standards.
  • Identifies and facilitates continuous and targeted professional development for leaders that directly supports the school curriculum and instruction that ensures continuous student achievement of the school's academic standards.
  • Supports the monitoring and the use of student achievement data from multiple sources (including standardized tests, RIMP data, curriculum-based assessments, classroom assessments and other data) to inform instruction, specifically as it pertains to BLT, TBT and RTI processes.
  • Provide support for intervention programs based on Reading Improvement Monitoring Plans (RIMPs) and monitor program effectiveness based on data.
  • Guide leaders in the effective use of instructional and support materials for full implementation of all areas of the curriculum.
  • Guide leaders in supporting teachers in adapting materials and methods across the curriculum to the learning styles and instructional levels of individual students, using multiple appropriate differentiation strategies, including but not limited to instructional grouping.
  • Model effective instructional practices, including coaching the delivery of instruction using effective teaching strategies, and provide effective feedback, professional development and coaching for leaders in coaching these practices.
  • Offer continuous and targeted professional development that directly supports the school curriculum and instruction that ensures continuous student achievement of the school's academic standards.
  • Monitor the use of student achievement data from multiple sources (including standardized tests, ILS data, curriculum-based assessments, classroom assessments and other data) to inform instruction.
  • Provide support for intervention programs and monitor program effectiveness based on data.
  • Support the organization of resources to support learning activities in the classroom, the school, and the community.
